For the Mulleavy sisters, fashion is futuristic, it’s psychedelic, it’s tribal, it’s art. I’m really lovin’ this Fall 2010 RTW collection. They really have followed their inspiration and made the collection seem “dream-like”. And it's reallyyyyy beautiful. We’re seeing a lot of loose knits this season, and the sisters are putting their own twist on the trend! Showing a lot of heavy layers, and almost “falling off the bod” pieces, the look as a whole is something the industry has never seen before. HONESTLY, this look would be hard to pull off anywhere but the runway. I’m guessing you can deconstruct these looks and use pieces, BUT all together, this is a challenging look. Honestly, what really draws me to this collection was the inspiration. The Mexican/American boarder? They also had an idea, they wanted to explore dreams, or sleep-like states. Sleepwalking? A really interesting concept. HOW CREATIVE. So beautiful, the colors are ta die for. The palette is stuffed with rich earth tones and yellows, very eye-catching. Another thing about this collection that should be mentioned is the craftsmanship that went into these clothes; techniques that the fashion industry has never seen before. Clearly, the garments are draped to perfection using vintage lace and chiffon, then burned, torn, painted, reversed. Whatever the sisters could dream, they made it real. Tribal fashion! Rodarte is developing their look every season, better and better every time! Perfectionnn!
