Fashion Week #1: Dress Code.

I’m pleased to say that once again the goddess of producing fashion shows has graced us with a very perfect Dress Code. Oh Nena, I honestly love the way you work. Lovely drinks, a flawless fashion show, and awesome student designs. Fashion Focus was a success! And not to mention, sitting second row wasn’t' half bad!

Honestly, I was impressed. I totes didn't expect such developed, diverse, and devoted work from the students. Okay Chicago, do work!! I could see some of the pieces in NY fashion week. Maybe? Please decide for yourself. Enough with the talk, let’s get to the good stuff!

Skyy vodka and black blazers.

well.....

HAPPYBIRTHDAYTOME!

Turning 20 years old is exciting...only when you have a glamourous and sexy party like I had! Set in the ever so fabulous PENTHOUSE of the Fisher Building the party had an all black dress code. Party guests were treated with a fully stocked bar and skilled drink crafters to keep the Skyy and champagne flowing. Looking sleek and chic was the key to the evening. Black, black...and more black! Emily wearing an asymmetrical zippered dress from Diesel, and Brianna sporting jet-back lipstick. Honestly it was a Tom Kivell heaven. Also, Michael was snapping the shutter all night! Thanks to him, we have the glam on cam! Thanks to Dakota Balka and the fisher crew for the help!

When fashion and birthdays collide....

Nobody turns 20 like me.
ENJOY.

And many more...on facebook!

Dior, you move me.

This is a runway dream.

DIOR HOMME
Spring 11 rtw

So it's true, less is more. Today, I was sitting in the basement lab of Columbia's fashion building with Dax; naturally, we were reviewing collections on Style.com. (that's a daily routine, don't judge) and I fell in love with Dior Homme S11. Honestly, and i'm not just sayin' this because but... IT'S TA' DIE FOR. If I was front row at the tent, I most definitely would have leapt onto the runway and make an attempt to steal the entire collection right off the models. It's that great. Just look at the way the clothing moves. I'm most sure it would have been better to see this in person, but oh well. Also, the color story is amazing. Who would have thought black in the spring? My kinda' bitches. ALLBLACKALLTHETIME. The light outerwear and jackets are simple, yet oversized to give a new shape and silhouette for spring. I pretty much want everything. Dior, just send me the sample sizes and i'll make my fat ass fit! thanks! I just love the sleeveless dusters and jesus sandals!

And bow down to the birthday bitch...ME.

This is Fashion, not FAT CAMP.

Recent news in the world of Tom.

-It's my birthday on the 16th.
-I got an iPad and love it.
-Went to Chicago's Fashion Night Out.
-developed a love/hate relationship with fall.
-Started classes. EW.
-Got fatter.
-DIESEL

Honestly...I HEART STUPID.
Recently, I did a tiny bit marketing and promotional work for Diesel clothing and had the time of my life! The lovely Nicole Neal and myself were part of a two-day extravaganza featuring an in-store party at the e. Walton Diesel location and the Mad Decent Block Party pop shop full of rockstars and hotties! Working with the girls from the corporate office in NY was a treat! The in-store pre-party was exciting; I particularly enjoyed watching people request sponge-on tattoos right across the forehead and earning the coveted "Diesel Dollars". Honestly, I wouldn't have asked for a better weekend. I left with connections; free clothes and smelling like beer.

Anyway.

If Fashion was a penis, it would have a boner.
aka..

NEWYORKFASHIONWEEK2010.
EHHH BITCHES. Why are Dakota Balka and I Stuck in Chicago?! You know I would give my left eyeball to be up in those tents at MBFW. One day i'll sit my fat ass front row in a RESERVED SEAT. (with one of those little paper tents) it will look something like this.

TOM KIVELL

AAA, that will be the day ya'll. Sooo, now to the good stuff. Honestly, i'm so excited to see Y-3. They are showing on the 12th and can't wait to see the photos. I've always been soooo impressed. And of course you all know how much I love Jap-Fash. Also, Rag & Bone will be interesting. BUT, ya' know what I love the most about this fashion week....all the BLACK. IT'S TAKING OVER. Donna Karan...all black. Beautiful collection!

A little vague but i'll come back to FW when there's more updates. In the meantime, click HERE to check out Rachel Zoe's 10 essentials for a fashionable week!

Just say it. I'm a fugly slut.

Thanks Blake from Anywhere but here.

Wow, this is basically the garb I wear everyday. What a copy-cat! Well, i'm guessing Mr. Blake updates HIS BLOG EVERYDAY unlike me. Yeah, i'll throw out the regular excuse, i've been busy bitches okay?! Trying to make my merry way in the city is a little more difficult than I thought. (Current checking account balance : $19.77) THATS NOT FINNA PAY THE BILLS YA HEAR. But thats a irrelevant to blogging. So i'll try to get better....Honestly.

So fashion and shittt....

Honestly, I wear shorts that are too short and blue button-ups. AND BLACK. The end.
As for my dear friend Michael, always something new and exciting! YSL high-gloss drivers or a Nice Collective v-neck, he's always lookin' phresh ta death. And not to mention his recent trip to Europe (See FB album) that has really taken him to new fashion heights! Way to go Michael, you get a gold star! As for me, let's lose the grey-tones.

I heart Denim Jackets.

HOW TRENDY, SIR.

Denim jackets are getting bigger, and better! I'm diggin' the stone-wash! I'v been seeing a lot jean jacks paired with oversized oxfords and chambray shorts! Loves the look! AND you can get the look on a budget! NOW, we all know denim jackets were WAY hot like late 80s, SO there plenty in circulation to go around. PICK ONE UP! And the chambrays, American Apparel? Or you can find some at a thrift. Honestly, the look is way fun and you can change it up super easily! Mix and match, have fun!

TOM.

ps. I'm watching Finding Nemo. CLASSIC.
